4th of July

Postby Ogden on Wed Jul 01, 2009 6:50 am

The Macys Fireworks will be launched from barges in the Hudson River for the first time in many years, making Riverview Park and Paterson Plank Road in the Heights a prime viewing area for them. The barges will be between 23rd St and the 50's in Manhattan. Residents along Ogden Avenue near Riverview Park should be aware that there will be road closures and those coming from around Jersey City or outside the area should NOT drive. There is no parking available. Get here early and plan to leave after the fireworks.

There was a large turnout at Riverview-Fisk Park and I'm glad the guys in blue were out in force. It was a good crowd and from what I saw there were no incidences (pretty sure JCPD walking around, talking to the crowd, and making their presence was known helped a lot). Great July 4th event.
