As mentioned by our councilman tonight, a tax hike will be coming to Jersey City. For those who asked, below is the link to the adopted FY08 budget.

Below is the link to the proposed 2010 Jersey City Municipal Budget. It is important to note the last budget required a total of $151,215,111.00 to be raised through taxes to cover expenses. This year, it is proposed that a total of $202,702,504.00 will be required, an increase of $51,487,393.00. We encourage our members to review the budget, provide clarification via this post, and to contact your elected officials to voice your concerns.
